Holiday itinerary
Day 1 UK to Venice - A flight from your chosen UK airport to Venice and then a transfer to the Hotel Albatros 4* on the outskirts of Venice for your two-night stay.
Day 2 Venice - A chance to discover all about this unique city on an included guided walking tour, after which you can explore further the amazing sights such as bustling St Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge, the Bridge of Sighs and the Campanile, with its panoramic views from the top. Dinner this evening is taken in Venice.
Day 3 Venice to Florence - Travelling via Bologna, one of Italy’s most prosperous towns renowned for its cuisine and home to a stunning medieval centre of ancient red roofs (optional guided city tour offered), we head to Florence for two nights at the Hotel Alexander Novoli 4*.
Day 4 Florence - A full day in the City of Art begins with an included guided walking tour, followed by free time to explore further at your leisure. Must-see sights include the Statue of David, the open-air museum Piazza Della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio spanning the River Arno and the Santa Croce, which houses the tombs of Michaelangelo and Galileo.
Day 5 Florence to Rome - After breakfast we head south through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to the charming city of Siena, with its shell-shaped Il Campo Square and unique black and white striped marble cathedral, here there is time for an optional guided walking tour. We continue our journey to Rome and the Hotel Aris Garden 4* for a three-night stay.
Day 6 Rome - An included guided city tour provides the perfect introduction to this amazing city, before free time to allow you to explore further at your leisure. The endless sights of this wonderfully romantic city include the Vatican, St Peter’s Square, the huge Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, where you can toss in a coin for good luck. An optional Rome by night tour is offered in the evening.
Day 7 Vatican and Sistine Chapel - A guided tour of these two incredible places is included today. The Sistine Chapel is home to perhaps the most incredible act of individual creativity in history – Michaelangelo’s frescoes on the ceiling and last Judgement on the end wall – while the Vatican City is the smallest independant state in existence, complete with its own army of Swiss Guards.
Day 8 Rome to UK - Transfer for your return flight from Rome to the UK.
