Holiday itinerary
Day 1 UK to Rome - Fly from your choice of UK regional airport to Italy’s capital, before being taken to your hotel in time for dinner. Our stay for two nights is at the 3* Hotel Torre Rossa Park (or similar) on the city’s outskirts.
Day 2 Rome - A day in the "Eternal City" the day commences with a fully guided tour of the Vatican Museums (entrance included, the tour culminates at the Sistine Chapel – Michelangelo’s masterpiece. The remainder of the day is at leisure to discover the city. Throw a coin in the Trevi fountain or visit the impressive Colesseum! (*)
Day 3 Rome to Sorrento - We depart Rome for the stylish town of Sorrento set in the heart of the Bay of Naples. During the journey we stop for a visit to magnificent Caserta Palace. Caserta Palace is a Baroque masterpiece probably the largest building erected in the 18th century and the gardens in the palace grounds are archetypal Italian gardens (*). We continue to Sorrento for our four night stay at the 3* Hotel Tirrenia (or similar).
Day 4 Sorrento - We enjoy a relaxing day in stylish Sorrento. This pretty town is built on a cliffside overlooking the Bay of Naples. Enjoy people watching in central Piazza Tasso or explore the narrow alleyways with an array of shops.
Day 5 The Amalfi Drive - Discover Europe’s most stunning stretches of coastline, with cliffs that plunge dramatically into the seas below. You will pass through pretty orchards and gardens where olives and lemons flourish, before calling at the popular resort of Amalfi and then the colourful town of Ravello perched high above the coast.
Day 6 Capri - A full day excursion visits the enchanting Isle of Capri. The day includes a visit to Capri Town where you can shop in the stylish boutiques or enjoy the magnificent views. Take the opportunity to ascend Anacapri for the best views and our local guide will ensure you get the best from the day!
Day 7 Sorrento to Rome - We return Rome today via Montecassino and a visit to the famous Benedictine Abbey (*) rebuilt after the Second World War, the abbey commands some fabulous views over the Campania region. We also take time to visit the Second World War memorial cemetery at Montecassino.
Day 8 Rome to UK - Transfer to the airport for flights back to the UK.
