The Lord of the Glens transits through the Caledonian Canal, making a meandering course through the Great Glen and a combination of natural and man-made waterways. There is much delight to be taken from a cruise through the Great Glen at this time of the year including an abundance of wildlife and the snow-capped ruggedness of the Highland scene. Holiday Itinerary by Air
Day 1 UK to Inverness
- Make your own way to your chosen airport for the flight to Inverness. Transfer arranged to join the Lord of the Glens at the Muir Town Locks, a short walking distance from the centre of Inverness. We moor this evening at Inverness and take time to enjoy the surroundings and attend the Captain’s welcome reception and dinner.
Day 2 Inverness to Fort Augustus - This morning enjoy an optional excursion to Aviemore with the Highland steam-hauled train journey to Boat of Garten or when not operating the Cairngorm Railway.This afternoon we sail through Loch Dochfour and Loch Ness to Fort Augustus, passing Urquhart Castle. We moor overnight at Fort Augustus.
Day 3 Fort Augustus to Banavie - Morning visit to Urquhart Castle and visitor centre followed by an afternoon sail along the Caledonian Canal, Loch Oich and Loch Lochy to Banavie in the shadow of Ben Nevis. Tonight we are moored at Banavie.
Day 4 Banavie to Fort William - Visit beautiful Glencoe, stopping at Fort William whisky distillery on the way, followed by a descent of Neptune’s Staircase, a series of inter-connected locks, to Corpach at Fort William. Captain’s farewell reception and dinner in the evening.
Day 5 Fort William to UK - Disembark after breakfast with fond memories before the transfer to Inverness airport.

Flight departures: Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Luton.

Please note: on certain dates the itinerary will operate in the reverse sequential order. Timings and schedule are subject to weather conditions and tide.
