Holiday Itinerary by Air
Day 1 UK to Seville - Flight from the UK to Seville, transfer to the MS Belle de Cadix where a welcome cocktail awaits you in the lounge. Dinner on board is followed by free time to explore Seville or an optional flamenco evening.
Day 2 Seville to Cadiz - An optional guided tour is offered after breakfast, which takes in the magnificent cathedral, the Alcazar Palace and Andalucian gardens, the Maria Luisa park and the seductive district of Santa Cruz. Back on board we head for Cadiz, cruising past fields of cotton and rice, unspoilt nature and the natural wildlife reserve of Donana Park. A guided evening stroll around the blue and white city of Cadiz by night, rich with history and culture, is offered.
Day 3 Cadiz and the Rock of Gibraltar or Tangiers - A day devoted to the optional guided tour of Cadiz and Gibraltar, or excursion to Tangiers. Gibraltar, with its resident colony of Barbary apes, is the pearl of the Bay of Algieciras and the tour includes stops at Europapoint, with its view of the Moroccan coastline, and St Michael’s Cave, famous for its stalactites. Beautiful Tangiers is the gateway to the African continent and you’ll be able to explore the Medina, its souks and the Kasbah Square, sites that have inspired artists for generations. Back on board for dinner this evening before we continue our sailing to Acoutim.
Day 4 Alcoutim (the Algarve) to Vila Real (Portugal) - Enjoy breakfast as we cruise up the simply delightful Guadiana River, with its picturesque surrounding landscapes and villages forgotten by time, to Alcoutim, a typical Algarve village unspoilt by mass tourism. In the afternoon we head off to the town of Vila Real, which has a pleasant beach close to the mooring. An optional excursion to the Roman city of Faro is offered. Dinner follows this evening with a Portuguese theme and a folk evening.
Day 5 Vila Real to Sanlucar de Barrameda - Continuing along the Guadiana River and then out to sea in the Gulf of Cadiz to Sanlucar de Barrameda. An optional visit to a cellar where the fabulous local Manzanilla wines are produced is followed by a traditional equestrian show. Back on board, we remain moored this evening.
Day 6 El Puerto de Santa Maria – Jerez – Seville - We sail during the night for El Puerto de Santa Maria. Your time is free in the morning to discover the town, which is nearly 2,000 years old and has numerous historic sites, wonderful wines and beautiful beaches. An optional afternoon excursion takes you to Jerez, capital of wine and horses and cradle of Flamenco song. Dinner on board is followed by a gala evening.
Day 7 Seville – Cordoba – Seville - Today you are free to explore Seville or you may take an optional excursion and guided tour of Cordoba, city of the Moors, where you will discover the mosque-cathedral and the former Jewish quarter, where the pretty white lanes are adorned with colourful flowers. Dinner on board on our final evening is followed by free time, where you can further explore the delights of Seville.
Day 8 Seville to UK - After breakfast, disembark and transfer to Seville airport for your return flight to the UK.
