Holiday itinerary
Day 1 Dover, Calais, then on to our overnight hotel.
Day 2 We travel through Belgium, with a brief visit to the bustling city of Brussels, before heading to Germany and our base for six nights.
Days 3 to 7 A great base for exploring the Rhine Valley, Remagen is best known from the movie ‘A Bridge Too Far’, which portrayed the moment when the Ludenorff Bridge – the last standing on the Rhine - was captured by US soldiers in 1945 during the ‘miracle of Remagen’. The town has many beautiful and well-maintained buildings, churches, castles and monuments and a large pedestrian centre with a good variety of shops.
Day 8 Returning through Belgium and a stop in beautiful Bruges, before continuing to Northern France and dinner at our overnight hotel.
Day 9 Calais, Dover, then home.

Included excursions
Full day Ahr Valley Train - You’ll delight at the wonderful scenery of the Burgundy wine valley as we travel through its steep terraces alongside the River Ahr to join the Deutsche Bahn’s push-n-pull service for the train journey from Remagen to Altenahr and back with a local guide.
Full day Vulcano Express - An experience that will live long in the memory, today offers the chance to ride on the privatelyowned narrow gauge railway that descends from Engeln in the Eiffel Mountains down the Brohl Valley. From Brohl we visit the riverside resort of Linz am Rhein, an attractive town with colourful half timbered houses.
Full day Moselle Valley - Be charmed by the vine clad slopes, wonderful wines, picturesque towns, ancient castles, and Roman remains of the Moselle Valley, as we journey along the banks and visit charming Cochem and beautiful Bernkastel Kues.
