Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 UK to Liege To Dover for the ferry across to Calais, through France and Belgium and on to our overnight hotel in Liege.
Day 2 Liege to Nürnberg We cross into Germany and then to the Ramada Landhotel (3*), just outside Nürnberg. (B,D)
Day 3 Nürnberg to Prague Eastwards and into the Czech Republic to arrive in Prague in the afternoon for two nights at the hotel Barcelo (4*). (B,D)
Day 4 Prague At leisure in Prague with its skyline dominated by hundreds of towers and spires and the imposing St. Vitus Cathedral looking down from the hill of Hradcany over the Charles Bridge, lined with baroque statues. See these sights and many more on our included guided tour of the city. Afternoon at leisure to explore further at your own pace. (B,D)
Day 5 Prague to Vienna Into Austria and to Vienna, where we have included a guided tour this afternoon to help you get your bearings and introduce you to the main sights. The huge imperial Hofburg Palace dominates the city centre and the ‘Ring’ thoroughfare features a host of stunning buildings, including the State Opera House, the Town Hall and the Parliament. We stay for two nights at the Delta (4*). (B,D)
Day 6 Vienna At leisure in Vienna to further explore your favourite sights. Enjoy a coffee and the famous Sachertorte in one of the many tempting cafes, or maybe a ride in the giant ferris wheel for some stunning views. (B,D)
Day 7 Vienna to Venice Mestre We head southwards through Corinthia and into Italy, continuing to Venice Mestre and the hotel Albatros (4*), our base for the next two nights. (B,D)
Day 8 Venice An included guided walking tour of Venice to admire the numerous beautiful bridges and palaces in this most romantic of cities. See St. Marks Square, the Doge Palace and experience the music of singing gondoliers under the Rialto Bridge. You may choose to savour the panorama of the city from the top of the Campanile, take lunch in a quiet ‘trattoria’, or simply wander through narrow streets and across bridges and immerse ourself in the beauty of this living museum. Day 9 Venice to Florence Westwards to Florence for an included walking tour of this stunning Renaissance city. Stroll along the narrow streets and imagine the medieval world of wealthy bankers, nobleman and craftsmen who built Florence’s fine palaces and churches. No visit to Florence would be complete without a walk across the oldest bridge, the Ponte Vecchio, as it spans the river Arno. We stay two nights at the Vila Gabriele D’Anunzio (4*) or similar. Day 11 Florence to Basle Towards Switzerland and its snow-capped mountains, to Basel and our hotel for the night, Alexander (3*). (B,D)
Day 12 Basel to Paris Across the French border to the Paris area for a night at the Novotel Cergy Pontoise. (B,D)
Day 13 Paris to N. France Join us on an included guided city tour this morning to experience the city’s main sights. We then continue to Northern France for the last night of your holiday. (B,D)
Day 14 N. France to UK To Calais, across to Dover and then home. (B)
