Join us in 'Sound of Music' country, a land of crisp mountain air, pine-clad forests and lush green meadows. We stay in the pretty village of Saalbach, situated in the peaceful Glemm Valley beneath the impressive Kitzbüheler Alps, with its traditional character and flower-decked houses.

Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 To our overnight hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 We continue into Germany today for an overnight stay in the Black Forest at the Treff Bad Herrenalb.
Day 3 We cross the border into Austria and enjoy breathtaking scenery as we travel on to Saalbach for our seven night stay.
Days 4 to 9 At leisure in peaceful Saalbach, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Our excellent excursion programme takes in the highlights of this beautiful region.
Day 10 We depart for Germany and our overnight hotel at the Zum Hirsch.
Day 11 Into France for an overnight stay.
Day 12 To Calais and homeward bound.
Included Excursions
Full Day Lake Fuschl, Wolfgangsee & Mondsee. - We visit the beautiful Salzkammergut lake district. The opening scenes of the film were shot around Fuschl and Wolfgang area, and Mondsee is home to the church where Maria and Captain Von Trapp were married.
Full Day Salzburg & ‘The Sound of Music’ - Salzburg has acquired worldwide renown as the backdrop to the beloved musical ‘The Sound of Music’. We enjoy a guided tour of the city visiting some of the filming locations including the Summer House (Sixteen going on Seventeen), Maria’s convent, the Mozartplatz and the Mirabell Gardens, where Maria and the children sang ‘Do-Re-Mi’.
Full Day Berchtesgarden & Konigsee. - Berchtesgarden is a small, historic town surrounded by the German Alps, and is home to the "kehlsteinhaus", or Hitler's "Eagle's Nest", which is located at 1,834m. The town has retained its original charm and character as many house fronts are decorated with murals. Then onto Konigsee, which is the deepest lake in the alps. The scenery around this area is featured in the Sound of Music.
Bergers Sporthotel, Saalbach
This traditional, family-run hotel is in a pedestrian zone in the centre of Saalbach (please note our coach is not able to stop outside the hotel), surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery. The Berger family has been welcoming British guests for many summers now, with warmth and traditional Austrian hospitality.
