Your holiday itinerary
Day 1 Local departure by coach, then to our hotel in Houghton-le-Spring for three-nights. (D)
Day 2 Northumbrian Coast - Included tour of the Northumbrian Heritage Coast, one of Britain's most picturesque and unspoilt coastlines. We begin in Alnwick, a picturesque market town. Alnwick Castle is the largest inhabited castle in England after Windsor Castle, and has been the backdrop for T.V. and films including Harry Potter. Then, tides and weather permitting, we visit Holy Island and Lindisfarne, famed as the birthplace of English Christianity. Later, we visit Bamburgh, home of the magnificent Bamburgh Castle, sat on its dominating perch on the seafront. (B,D)
Day 3 Durham  & Newcastle-upon-Tyne - Optional visit to Durham, dominated by its magnificent Norman castle and cathedral. Set in a loop of the River Wear, the old town is a delight. Later we head to Newastle for free time. (B,D)
Day 4 We leave our hotel and return home. (B)
