Your holiday itinerary
Day 1 Local departure by coach the to the Paris area for an overnight stay.
Day 2 Through France to the Bordeaux area for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 3 Into Spain, to the Salamanca area where we stay overnight. (B,D)
Day 4 Salamanca - Included morning in Salamanca, a fine university city and regarded as Spain's best example of Renaissance architecture. Later, we travel into Portugal to arrive in Praia de Vieira, our base for the next seven nights. (B,D)
Day 5 Free time - Enjoy a day at leisure. (B,D)
Day 6 Obidos - Optional excursion to the pretty, walled town of Obidos and Quinta do Sanguinhal. See the winemaking techniques, along with a tour of the vineyard followed by winetasting and a light lunch. (B,D)
Day 7 Lisbon - Optional excursion to Lisbon, Portugal's capital. A panoramic coach tour will show you the main sights including the Belem area and, in particular, the Monument to the Discoveries and the monastery. (B,D)
Day 8 Coimbra - Optional guided excursion taking in the pretty town of Coimbra and also a visit to the fascinating 'Portugal in Miniature'. Contiune on to Bussaco Forest to enjoy beautiful gardens and the outstanding natural beauty of the area. (B,D)
Day 9 Porto - Included excursion to Porto, a wonderful, walled city on the banks of the Douro River and origin of the famous fortified wine. An optional guided tour will show many sights linked to Porto's history from the 8th century BC. The scenic historical quarter and cathedral are also worth a visit before our day ends at a traditional Porto wine cellar. (B,D)
Day 10 Free time - Final relaxing day at leisure on the Portugese coasts. (B,D)
Day 11 Leave Portugal and trave to Vitoria-Gasteiz area in northern Spain for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 12 San Sebastian - As we travel to France we stop en-route at the beautiful resort of San Sebastian, picturesquely situated on a shell-shaped bay. Stay overnight in the Bordeaux area. (B,D)
Day 13 Travel north to the Paris outskirts for an overnight stay. (B)
Day 14 To Calais then return journey home. (B)

Your hotels
Situated directly on the beach, you'll stay for seven nights in Praia de Vieira on Portugal's Silver Coast at the Hotel Cristal, a superb 3-star hotel with fantastic views over the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, which can also be covered when necessary, and an extensive spa and health club with gym, sauna, Turkish bath and health treatments. There is a lift, restaurant and panoramic bar offering more striking views. All air-condittioned rooms provide hairdryer, fridge, telephone and satellite T.V. Occasional entertainment throughout the summer, plus wine and water with your evening meal are included. In Spain and France you will stay overnight in city-style hotels.
