Your holiday itinerary
Day 1 Local departure by coach then to northern France for an overnight stay.
Day 2 To the Lake Como/Milan area for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 3 Florence - Included visit to the beautiful city of Florence en route to Chianciano Terme for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 4 Rome - Included visit to Rome where you can join our optional guided sightseeing tour by coach and on foot, seeing the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and many other sights. Continue to the Sorrento area for a two-night stay. (B,D)
Day 5 Sorrento and the Isle of Capri - Relaxing day in Sorrento or join our fabulous optional excursion, as we sail across the Bay of Naples to the magnificent Isle of Capri. (B,D)
Day 6 To the "foot" of Italy then by ferry to Sicily for a six-night stay. (B,D)
Day 7 Mount Etna and Taormina - A full day included excursion to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe at 3350 metres. If the weather is good, you can join an optional visit to the summit by local bus, before we return to the town of Taormina for sightseeing. (B,D)
Day 8 Stromboli - Today's fabulous excursion sees us sailing to the island of Panarea, where you can swim at Zimmari Beach. Then we travel to the port of San Pietro, from where you can walk, or if you wish take a local taxi to the village for dinner and another bathe! In the evening, the boat leaves for the island of Stromboli to view the mighty volcano at night - the best time to see the mountain's fiery explosions. We watch from offshore, before returning by sea to Milazzo, with a light meal of pasta with wine and water included on board.(B,D)
Day 9 Syracuse - Included visit to what is probably Sicily's most beautiful city and home of the famous Archimedes. Our guide will show us the main highlights. (B,D)
Day 10 Catania - Optional excursion to Catania situated between the Ionian Sea and the slopes of Mount Etna. Visit the local fish market, the stunning City Hall and Cathedral. (B,D)
Day 11 Free time - Day at leisure in resort. (B,D)
Day 12 Ferry to mainland Italy then on to Fiuggi, near Rome, for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 13 Pisa - To Pisa then to Montecatini in Tuscany for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 14 To the Austrian Tyrol for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 15 To Belgium for an overnight stay. (B)
Day 16 To Calais the return home. (B)

Your hotels
You’ll stay in 3-star (minimum) hotels for one night each in the Lake Como/Milan area, and Chianciane Terme, Fiuggi, Montecatini and the Austrian Tyrol; two-nights on the Sorrento Peninsula; in Sicily you'll stay for six nights at a 3-star (minimum) hotel such as the Kings House Hotel in Fondachello, Hotel San Pietro in Letojanni or the Hotel Kennedy in Sant' Alessio Siculo. Overnight stays in northern France and Belgium are in city-style hotels.
