Excursions and visits
Lake Cruise – Villa Carlotta & Balbianello (optional). The best way to appreciate the beauty of Lake Como is by taking to the water. You sail by private boat to Villa Carlotta and Villa del Balbianello, two of the loveliest villas on the lake, both set in magnificent gardens.
Milan (included); Milan Guided Sightseeing (optional). Experience the world’s most elegant shopping arcades, the Sforza Palace, the marvellous Gothic cathedral, the glittering La Scala Opera House, and much much more. On our optional sightseeing tour, discover the historical and artistic heart of Milan. The breathtaking Duomo is one of the world’s largest, most striking Gothic cathedrals, while Milan’s art galleries, many housed in former palaces, are home to a host of significant works.
Lake Maggiore and The Borromean Islands (included). We travel first to the opulent resort  town of Stresa, from where a boat will take you across to the famous islands. The islands lie at the centre of the lake and are fine examples of natural beauty enhanced by landscaped gardens and parks. On Isola Bella, visit the Palazzo Borromeo and its splendid gardens.
St. Moritz & Bernina Express (optional). We leave the lakes to visit the world-famous resort of St. Moritz. From here you join the Bernina Express, the highest rail crossing of the Alps. Journey through the peaks and glaciers of the Bernina Alps. Don’t forget your camera as we experience the fantastic sights from the Alpine wonderland to the palm trees of Italy. We rejoin our coach in Tirano for the journey back to Como. This optional excursion must be purchased at the time of booking in order to guarantee your seat reservation, at a cost of £35 per person.
Como Market and Lugano Shopping (included). A chance to buy those all-important presents for the loved ones, with a full day’s shopping experience.

Your hotels
You'll stay for six fully-inclusive nights at the recently renovated 3-star Britannia Excelsior in Cadenabbia. Enjoying a superb setting facing the lake shore, the hotel has a restaurant featuring buffet meals and show cooking, large lounge area, bar, lifts and its own lakefront lido area with outdoor pool and bar.  All bedrooms have flat-screen T.V., telephone, hairdryer, ceiling fan and air-conditioning (mid June to mid September). The hotel is managed and owned by the Whieldon family who are on hand to make sure your stay is enjoyable.  Room upgrades are available.

Overnight stays in northern France will be in city-style hotels.
